My boyfriend and I both have AT&T (used to be Cingular) cell phone plans. We live in NY. If he calls from Canada to NY (from his cell to mine), what would the charges be? Would I be charged the same international rate as him when I answer his call on my cell? If I call his cell from my house phone, would he still have to pay the International fee? What’s the cheapest way for him to call me, preferably from his cell?

Can I just have them switch the insurance onto that new phone since it is still their phone without changing my contract?

My situation is that:
Four friends got on 1 cell phone plan through at&t- it was in Bob’s name. Bob left friends under the impression that he would pay cell phone bill because he had it "handled". Bob did not pay cellphone bill and all friend’s cellphones are now inactive. Can I take my at&t phone- switch to Verizon? Where do i need to start? Will i be penalized if i try to take a new phone with 4 years left of a contract on it and startup service with Verizon?

I guess my next question is, can i take my phone and get at&t in my name and only have to pay the service rather than for the phone from the existing contract?
I know Verizon would need an extreme deposit- so i’ll rule them out completely.
I’m sure At&t would need the same although atleast i have a phone, right?

I broke my phone and don’t have the insurance, so I want to just go to the store and buy a new phone but my upgrade isn’t for a few months. Does anyone know what the cheapest phone I can buy at the store is? Or should I just get one from ebay or something like that?
